Our Board

HR&SS is governed by a Board consisting entirely of people with disabilities. 

HR&SS believes that by having a Board of people with disabilities, it helps to ensure that an appropriate understanding and respect for people with disability is maintained by the organisation and its workers at all times.  This complements our consumer consultation processes and aligns with the philosophy and approach of “nothing for us without us”. 

The Board is responsible for:

• strategic direction, programmes and services
• selecting and supporting the CEO
• resourcing the organisation
• ensuring legal compliance

and, as such, is in a strong position to represent the needs and desires of people with disabilities in the design and implementation of our service.
