Join the Board of HR&SS!

A strong and active Board is a vital ingredient to the success of HR&SS. We need Board members with a range of skills, although the type of skills will vary from time to time depending on our current Board members. 

Generally, if you have direct experience as a consumer of HR&SS (not compulsory but great to have) and skills in law, policy, marketing and fundraising, finance, general business, service delivery, the disability sector, or relevant government departments, you could be just what we are looking for. 

Being a Board member is a big commitment. HR&SS Board members are expected to attend month Board meetings, training days ( 2 – 3 per year) and other functions, such as the Annual General Meeting. Our Board members are also expected to prepare for meetings and keep up to date with the disability sector and the progress of the organisation. In return, HR&SS is committed to helping Board members to gain valuable experience and skills as a Board member. As such, we engage external mentors and consultants to help with training and skills development. We also reimburse Board members for travel to and from Board meetings and provide light snacks at all meetings.
